EF Bavis & Associates Expands Into Air Tube Delivery Market
Cincinnati, OH - EF Bavis & Associates announced today receiving two patents for a new pneumatic tube delivery system. The patents were awarded for two innovations: (1) a novel configuration of the air tube system that differs significantly from typical systems & (2) An improved carrier with a unique door mechanism that:
(a) allows easy access.
(b) creates a more effective seal.
(c) in a third-door position, eliminates the need for additional valve mechanisms by functioning as a built-in valve port during carrier transport.
Like their signature non-pneumatic TransTrax delivery system used in several different industries, The Bavis Air APS (Advanced Pneumatic System) is based on engineering principles using efficient design and fewer parts, which translates into less maintenance and longer service for their customers.
The Bavis Air APS offers solutions to numerous design problems typically encountered with pneumatic tube delivery systems. A few examples include product features such as:
- Automatic doors that seal both ends of the delivery tube when power is off, thereby preventing condensation problems.
- A microprocessor control system with intelligent non-contact sensors that monitor, log and provide feedback on carrier operation.
- A redundant shut-off system that minimizes blower run-time and extends motor life.
When asked whether the the pneumatic tube delivery system would replace Bavis' long standing TransTrax style delivery systems, Company President Bill Sieber responded: 'Absolutely not. Our reason for deveoping the pneumatic tube system is to better serve customers whose procurement departments require a mutli-vendor format. Previously, we could not meet the needs of these potential customers who were limited to choosing only pneumatic systems. Now, however, we can offer a competitive pneumatic tube delivery system that we are proud to put our name on.'
